Maxibon ... How to get it in the United States?
My good Aussie friend just clued me into Maxibon ice cream treats from Nestle.
It's basically a block of chocolate chip ice cream, with one half dipped in chocolate hazelnut sauce, and the other half sandwiched with two crunchy biscuits.
Words really don't do it justice so I append pics below.
Ok, enough with the intros.
I need to know how, if at all possible, to get these things in the United States.
Ebay and Amazon have all failed me.
My next option was going to be Quantas ... but I come seeking advice from Chowhounds first ...
Oddly enough, I just had one of these about a month ago that I got in NYC (it was in some random deli in Soho. I saw it and thought, it's like Christmas and my birthday in one)
I'm only seeing this post now because I've been trying to remember what it was called -- definitely not being marketed as "Maxibon" but something like Duo or Duplex. My google searches are turning up nothing ... but trying to give you some hope.
can't help you with what you want, but,
i just finished off a JULLIETTE ORGANIC ICE CREAM SANDWICH ( can be obtained at whole foods, ralphs, and gelsons--imho the best commercially available ice cream sandwich) that i completely slathered with NOCCIOLATA ORGANIC HAZELNUT SPREAD WITH COCOA AND MILK (which is imported from italy and comes in a jar and can be found near the peanut butter in gelsons--imho FAR FAR FAR better than nutella).
maybe my little recipe can tide you over until you can get what you really want . . .
