High school trip to NYC

Help! I'm chaperoning a group of high school music students to NYC this weekend and I want good food to be part of their (and my) experience. We'll be staying near Times Square, but spending Saturday on the Upper West Side around Columbia / Riverside Church. I need someplace reasonable, interesting, and good for dinner / breakfast around Times Square, and same for lunch around Columbia / Riverside Dr. Any recommendations welcome.

Tough assignment, to be sure. Can you give us a size of the group and, perhaps, a budget? In any event, good luck!!

Ditto -- number of people and maximum price, including tax, tip, and drinks/soda/etc. will narrow down the choices considerably.

Many restaurants in Manhattan cannot accommodate huge groups on short notice.

The kids will be split into groups of no more than 12, and probably fewer. As for budget--$10.-$15. breakfast / lunch, $20-$30 dinner, tax and tip included. The kids are young enough not to be able to order alcohol (legally;let's hope nobody has a fake id), so that makes meals a little cheaper...
