Where would you recommend dining for a solo female. Is there a bar that accepts walk-ins? thanks

If you are dining solo, I'd try Terzo Piano, the restaurant on the 3rd floor of the Chicago Art Institute. The chef is the same chef that opened Spiaggia 20 years ago, Tony Mantuano, and there is a good mix of lone diners from the museum (who have reservations, of course). I suggest going on a beautiful/ warm day so you can take advantage of their outside dining area that overlooks Millennium Park but I cannot comment on if Spiaggia is good for a solo female b/c I have only been once, and with a large group.

I think Spiaggia is a little too formal for a solo diner of either gender. However, I have dined comfortably alone at Cafe Spiaggia and wouldn't see why a solo female couldn't do so comfortably as well-at a table, not just the bar.
