Dog Friendly Martha's Vineyard

NahantNative Apr 5, 2010 11:41 AM

I know MV as a whole is pretty dog friendly, but I can't seem to find any restaurants that allow dogs outside. Does anyone know of any?

You can try any pace that has a patio or outdoor seating area like Scottish Bakehouse, Espresso Love, Mocha Mott's in VH - that kind of thing. Places like Among the Flowers may be too confined to encourage a few dogs and I think there are certain regulations about where the little guys can be. But the three I mentioned are dog friendly. They are all casual coffee shop type places, though. Sandwiches- that kind of thing. If I think of anything else I will follow up.

      Scottish Bakehouse
977 State Rd, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568

      Mocha Mott's
Circuit Ave, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568

      Among the Flowers Cafe
      Mayhew Ln, Edgartown, MA 02539

Mmmm....Scottish Bakehouse. I love their amoretti. This time of year no need to ask when they were baked...last winter I got some stale ones, and since they are quite pricey it was a disappointment. Their breakfast sandwiches are great.

Johns Fish Market, Black Dog Cafe, Scottish Bakehouse, Net Result (both Vineyard Haven and Menemsha), Giordanos Pizza - outside "slice" tables, The Bite - Menemsha. Edgartown is spotty. There is one place down the alley next to David Ryans (can't remember the name) that although they have outside seating, the dogs need to be outside the fence..but it does work. There is also a "fine" restaurant on the main drag just up from the movie theaters (also the name escapes me - you can tell I don't get to Edgartown much ;) ) that has a few outside tables that you could probably have a smallish dog. All I can think of at the moment.

          Scottish Bakehouse
977 State Rd, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568

          Black Dog
11 Main St, Edgartown, MA 02539

          David Ryans Restaurant and Cafe
          11 N Water St, Edgartown, MA 02539

          Net Result
79 Beach Rd, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568

i've taken my dog to a restaurant called Coop de Ville in Oak Bluffs several times. They have a covered outdoor seating area on the harbor. Very dog friendly - they bring a water bowl and seem to appreciate having their floor cleaned of crumbs.
