Appetizers in Asheville???

  • 5

We are going to Asheville for the weekend and I am looking for some good restaurants recs. Specifically interested in places with good appetizers - so that we can go have an appetizer or two at several places throughout the evening. Thanks!

  1. 2 places that to mind are Sante, a wine bar in the Grove Arcade, and Zambra, which specializes in tapas and small plates. The Admiral also has small plates, but it has gotten so popular that reservations are now pretty much required, although perhaps if you go early or late you can just walk in.

I agree with Carolinadawg, those places are both great for apps and a nice cocktail or glass of wine!

    2. we also had some good apps at LAB (Lexington Ave Brewery) a couple months ago. We went mid-afternoon when it was really quiet, so not sure what the atmosphere is like when it's busy, but all the food we had was good. Their wine list was not interesting, but they brew their own beer which was well liked by our party.

Also agree with the other recs you've gotten so far. I think both Sante and Zambra are on restaurant.com too, so you could probably save some money at those places.

I second Sante (their dip combo is very good) and Zambra and would add Limones. They have a large selection of apps and tasty margaritas. The bar area is pretty msall, though, but it's lively. It's a little bit of a walk from the others, but it would be a good way to see most of downtown.
