Please help! Rehearsal dinner suggestions needed!

We are looking for a place to have a rehearsal dinner for about 50-60 people on a Friday night in July. Nearly all of our guests will be coming from out of town, a few young children. We would like to find someplace with a relaxed feel (not super fancy). Also, many of our guests will be staying around South Lake Union, so something nearby would be great.
We haven't lived in Seattle long, and we rarely make it out to nice meals. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

I can't think of many good restaurant eating options in the South Lake area that can handle that many people. Flying Fish is moving to that area soon, you could contact them to see if they will have the capacity at their new space. I would avoid Seastar at all cost. Ponti Seafood Grill has private rooms and is not super fancy, We had a birthday function there a couple years back and they did a great job, they are about a mile and a half north of SLU.

Thanks! I have checked with Flying Fish and Portage Bay Cafe. I think that Portage Bay Cafe would be perfect, but they are already booked. I will check with Ponti Seafood Grill and Blueacre. We also stopped by McCormick and Schmicks, and they have a nice room, but not sure yet on their menu.
          Thanks again for your suggestions.

Althuogh I don't have any personal experience, trusted foodies have warned me to stay away from McCormick and Schmicks' menu.

My firm Christmas party was at McCormick's one year and I have had a couple business dinners there. It's nothing special. At the same time, it has a lovely view and if it best suits your budget of places available, it will not be bad at all. with such a large group, you are going to be spending more time with the people than the food, anyway! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Ahhh, I was going to suggest Portage Bay, too!! That's where we did our rehearsal dinner and it was perfect and their catering company, The Organic Table catered our wedding and it was also wonderful. So sorry that they are booked, but on a good note, I've been to Ponti Seafood Grill quite a few times and they have great service, wonderful dishes and plenty of room for the size of your group. Good Luck :)

I've had good experiences with the food and private dining facilities at McCormick & Schmicks...and their staff is very professional. I think it would be a good place w. a very Seattle view/locale & good local fish for an out-of-town group.

Salty's on Alki has a private room downstairs....I've never been to a private function there, but it's a great view and they do good seafood buffets.
