Need bridal shower venue in Westchester County, NY

I want to host a bridal shower on Sunday July 18 or July 25, 2010 for about 25 people in upper Westchester County or lower Putnam County areas of NY. Can anyone recommend places with good food, good service and nice scenery? I have been quoted $40, tax and tip included, at the Traveler's Rest in Ossining, but I am not sure about the quality of their food in the last year. It used to be very good. I would prefer $30-35 if possible, but would pay more for perfection.

  1. Traveler's Rest? Is your bridal party over 70?

For $38. a person, you can have brunch at the wonderful Restaurant X in Congers.

    1. Does Travelers Rest have nice scenery? It's been so long since I've been there, I can't remember. What does that $40.00 include? I had a very nice shower for someone at Tramontos in Hawthorne and I think I paid around $35.00 a head, it was very nice but no scenery and it may be a little further south then you want to go. Maybe someone can help with the name of a place I'm trying to think of but i went to a Birthday party for someone up in Cold Spring and it was more of a catering hall and it was right before the tunnel, I remember the food as being ok and the views were very nice. Also what about Hudson House in Cold Spring, good food and beautiful views.

Travelers Rest has gardens and a rock waterfall as I remember from 15 years ago, and is kind of out in the woods, so at least it doesn't have a lot of road noise or views of ugly buildings. Tramontos in Hawthorne is not too far for my party, but across the Hudson River in Congers is too far. Each guest at TR would receive a brunch menu with various options. The $40 quoted at TR included cold appetizers during the first of 4 hours of the party (while guests are waiting for the bride to arrive); choice of 5 appetizers; salad; choice of 8 entrees; and dessert cart, along unlimited champagne, wine, beer and sodas, plus tax and tip are included for the $40pp.

What more can you tell me about Tramontos?

sorry I can't remember all the details but the food was great and we had plenty of it. We also had a champange punch and they included a very nice cake. This place worked for us also because it was so convenient, it is all level so if you have any elderly guests there are no stairs to deal with also when it's time to cart out the gifts it makes it much easier. The woman I delt with was Delia and she was lovely.
BTW, the place in Cold Spring that I was trying to remember was called Incredible Caterers On The Hudson and their number is 845-265-2600, not ever sure if they are still opened but you could give it a try. I really don't remember much about their food so wherever you go you may want to ask for samples to taste before you book it.
