Yes! Don't miss Sweet Grass Grill. Eclectic and all about local/organic ingredients. We really enjoyed our dinner there recently. Has a good vibe, great food, and attentive service.Check out their website!

And IMHO it is one of the best gyro places in the area. It is all a matter of taste and location. For the area; it has the best gyros. And I am sure you will feel free to disagree :) Been there a dozen times and I always leave satisfied.

I agree with both of you. It is one of the best in the area, but unfortuneately, it's not that good and I don't go there either anymore. More of a sad commentary on the locality's offerings, but what can you do.

Lefteris may be good for gyros but for restaurant food I have been very disappointed. Santorini in nearby Sleepy Hollow is much better (or has been when I've eaten there).

There's also a new Thai place in Sleepy Hollow that is supposed to be good.

For some reason, the wrong restaurant got tagged in your message (odd the way Google maps works sometimes!). Let me see if I can get the right one.

                Santorini Greek Restaurant
                175 Valley Street
                Sleepy Hollow, NY

(couldn't get a Google Maps tag, but at least this is the right address)

Thanks! I will remove the wrong one and linked the correct one here.

Bridge View Tavern in Sleepy Hollow is pub style also and has very good food, also has a nice view of the river/TZ bridge.. .... http://bridgeviewtavern.com/
If your looking to spend a couple bucks for farm to table food then check out Blue Hill at Stone Barn in Pocantico Hills (just a few minutes from Tarrytown).....http://www.bluehillfarm.com/food/fact...
Also try Irvington (just south of Tarrytown) they have several good places,
            Red Hat Bistro.........http://www.redhatbistro.com/
            Il Sorriso......http://www.ilsorriso.com/
            Chutney Masala........http://www.chutneymasala.com/
are a few that come to mind. Someone also mentioned Bistro Z in the Tarrytown Doubleday as being good but I haven't been myself/.........http://www.bistrozny.com/ordereze/def...

I second Blue Hill and Red Hat Bistro. While the food at Chiboust was not bad, we could've done without the attitude - the food isn't worth the 'tude. We also tried Sweetgrass -- it was good, but nothing extraordinay - especially if you are coming from the city.

There used to be a great Indian restaurant around the corner from the Tarrytown music hall...forget the name.

Cafe Tandoor - and it's closed. There are big signs up in the window saying coming soon for a new indian place there.

Skip bistro Z in the Doubletree, you may as well have my mother in law cook for you- she hasn't become aware of seasonings, she just throws things from the package to the broiler! and then cooks it till it's dead cardboard- - I think she missed that lesson in life/school.. who knows- yuk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I must second bridge view. Great bar area aswell as dining area though it is limited. Meny is adventurous and tries to capture some of the cultural charm of sleepy hollow with some of there spanish inspired dishes.

Finalmente (Italian) in Sleepy Hollow is a new, much-needed addition to the area. Exposed brick interior, with a great wine bar. I only ate their once, but the pasta was phenomenal, the pork dish was good, and the insalate caprese was ok. Definitely worth checking out though.

We thought Finalmente was quite good and a great addition to the area dining, don't want the word to get out to much, as they don't take reservations that it's not that big a place. We were very pleased with the whole experience and were lucky enough to meet the owner and chef the night we dined there.

Coffee Labs Roasters on Main St in Tarrytown serves the best lattes that I've found in the county. The pastries are brought in from Balthazar, and are also pretty good.

I also qualify as a supporter of Lefteris and its gyros and baklava. On the other hand, their split pea soup is best avoided unless you REALLY LIKE GARLIC. And their grilled cheese sandwich with bacon is just awful.

Main Street Sweets serves ice cream that is, I believe, locally made, perhaps even by them, but I'm hazy on those details. Anyway, the black raspberry is good, while the mint chip lacks punch.

You have to stop in at the Striped Bass!!! It's right on the water with a view of the bridge. They just renovated the place funky floridian cool and the food is always delicious. After a stressful day at work, it's so awesome to sip some vino with the sunset...

Jack & Dyls has some really creative American food in a nice environment. Under the radar at CH, but good food at good prices!

If you want authentic mexican i reccomend Que chulla es Puebla on valley street. It's right accross from the greek place "santorini" and has extra parking in the lot accross the street. Great food, staff and attitude in the place.... My fav are the quesidillas de tinga... simply cheesey goodness....

Santorini is far superior to Lefteris. peolple really need to start distingushing between real greek food and fast food greek food and the lefteris falls into that mcdonalds branding of greek food., I have also tried MYKONOS in dobbs ferry last week, they seem to be under new management, everyhthing was great, the had live greek music the night i was there. for tarrytown/sleepy hollow area the shephard pie at Doyles in sleepy hollow is to die for and service is great
