  1. I've been to Blackthorn a couple of times. It's a working mans place. A neighborhood tavern that serves food. Very friendly. Irish themed - South Buffalo is Irish of course.
I remember the beer&cheese soup was good. I don't know that I would recommend it as a DESTINATION to come and visit from out of town. Unless you were already in the area or had an interest in doing tours of working-man taverns.

    1. I ate there last week - I thought it was better than average pub fare. They make homemade tater tots, and they were really good. The beer cheese soup was yummy, and the stuffed banana peppers were delicious, too. Good beer selection (McSorleys on tap always makes me happy). They have a mini DDD platter with a little cup of the soup, a small crab cake, a little beef on weck, and a couple of those tater tots for only $9 - it was a good deal, and yummy! I don't live in the area any more, but if I did, it would be one of my regular selections....
