looking for buddha's hand

I know, kind of out of season, but I'm wondering if anyone has seen fresh Buddha's Hand citron at any local stores.

  1. I don't think I've ever seen buddha's hand sold fresh locally. If you do ever find a source for this, please do post back and let us know.

The only place that I have seen it locally is at Russo's but have not noticed it lately.

I've definitely seen it at Russo's, but I was in their citrus section just this afternoon and saw no Buddha's hand. The OP is right: it's a couple months out of season. Like most of the specialty citrus, they only have it from, say, December through February.

Hey I was there too. What a zoo...but yeah, didn't spot any of them either.

Saw it in Whole Foods on River Street in Cambridge in, um, January?

      3. i have seen it occasionally at stop n shop when in season

        1. i have seen them at both russos and whole foods.

          1. I've seen it at Whole Foods Andover, but not sure how recently. Within the past six months for sure.

            1. Just to confirm galangatron's report - believe it or not, I've seen it at the Brookline Stop and Shop (aka where vegetables go to die). It may have been a mistake or random order, because I don't think I've seen it there recently- but maybe in one of the "super" stop&shops?

Adam, We may have to have a "cover your keyboard alert" at the beginning of your posts. I almost sprayed mine with coffee when I read.

                Too true, too funny!

Thank you for a starting my day with a good laugh.

The randomness of what they will stock at your local Stop & Shop always surprises me, but sadly never seen at any of the ones I've visited in Quincy or the S. Shore.
