Grapeseed Oil and canned Chipotle in adobo sauce

  • 6

Is there a store that sells either of these? Preferably in the East Village or Lower East Side. but anywhere in Manhattan will do. Thanks.

By the way, if you haven't used grapeseed oil for cooking before, you really need to try it out, best and best for you ;-)

  1. Just about every supermarket I've ever been in sells Goya brand canned chipole in adobo sauce. As for grapeseed oil, try stores llike Fairway or Whole Foods.

    1. Hah, my local Met Market on 2nd Ave and 6th carries the Goya brand. You might also try Essex Street Market for more varieties of canned chipotle in adobo.

For more gourmet cooking oils, SOS Chefs?

      1. Great oil to sear things in. I love it. I see both products at many supermarkets. I live near the Gristedes on 8th ave and they have both. Also Whole Foods most certainly has both.

        1. I've gotten quality grapeseed oil at Village Cheese, Third Ave. @9th Street, very reasonably priced.

Interesting, did you check the expiration date (if any)? My experience is that this particular shop often sells items very cheap because they're old or about to expire. Got some VERY stale bread there once.

It was fine. I'm sure they do get bargains that they pass on to consumers on short-dated stuff. But I have not had a problem with anything.
