Lamb chops or Steak near Silver Spring for Big Birthday

We're driving up from NC to Silver Spring to celebrate my brother's big 60th. His favorite foods are prime rib, steak and lamb. The glitch, to all you "big city" folks, who are used to paying $50/meal, is that we aren't in that price group. Maybe $35/meal including the sides and that's pushing it for a dinner for 5. Is that even possible near Silver Spring? We can take the Metro into D.C., but want to avoid weekend traffic in Virginia. Any place we can take him where we won't be embarrassed to be the "poorer relations"? Thanks for your advise and help.

Ray's the Classics. Check this board's archives for many reviews. It's a great steak place with gentle prices. The original Ray's the Steaks in Virginia is metro accessible, but since you're in Silver Spring why travel?

Seconded, thirded, whatever. Ray's is the clear answer in Silver Spring. All of the steaks are butchered and aged in-house, in the $20-$35 range, and include sides.
