Mandarin Dynasty in Hillcrest..what happened?

What happen to Mandarin Dynasty. Randy the owner was such a nice guy.

            Randy, the owner of Mandarin Dynasty, was getting arthritis in his arms from handling woks for over twenty years. He also had a flaky partner. That combined with a bad economy did him in.

              That is too bad, Randy was one of the nicest guys you could meet. We new him when he was a waiter in Point Loma and we followed him to Encinitas and then to Hillcrest, nearly 30 years.

      1. I had heard a few months ago that in it's place will be the new Hillcrest Brewery. Haven't been able to find much info on it, other than the link below. Looks like they are shooting for a mid-May opening.
