recs for nice place that takes reservations?

Hi all,

I will be in town this weekend, staying in Hyde Park.

It will be me, wife, 5month old, 3 year old, and two grandparents, all of whom are adventurous, foodie-type eaters (including the 3 year old).

I am looking for a recommendation of a place that will take reservations, and that bringing two very well behaved restraurant going children to won't be too disturbing. I am not looking for a "kid-friendly" place that serves chicken nuggets, I just don't want it to be so formal that other guests will be bothered by having kids there.

Any thoughts? Closer to Hyde Park is better, but not necessary. In general, we love all foods, but the usual organic, local, fresh, etc is a preference.

Many many thanks,

Well, you can take well-behaved restaurant-going children *anywhere*, even the finest restaurants! No one should be bothered by having well-behaved kids around!

Most of the nicer restaurants in the Chicago area (over 500) accept reservations on the Opentable.com website, which is free to use. Park 52 is the one place right in Hyde Park which you can reserve on Opentable. www.park52chicago.com

You'll find a lot more recommendations for dining in Hyde Park in the discussion at http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/119212 Some of them are a few years old, but that topic has been keep up to date since it was first created.
