Hi all,

Heading to Lobsterlicious at Scaramouche tonight for our first time dining there. Wondering if anyone who has been this year could comment on standout or problematic dishes included in this promotion. I noticed in last year's threads that some choices were enjoyed more than others, so it would be great to have some specific recommendations/reviews!

To recap the menu:

FIRST COURSE
Lobster Bisque
With lime, coconut milk and chopped lobster.
-or-
Lobster Terrine
Salad of arugula, watermelon radish and avocado. Green goddess dressing.
-or-
Roasted Qualicum Bay Sea Scallops
Fresh shellfish ravioli and lobster reduction.

MAIN COURSE
Grilled Lobster
Potato gnocchi, oven-dried cherry tomatoes and asparagus.
Chili-chive-ginger beurre blanc.
-or-
Butter Poached Lobster
Toasted brioche, sautéed pea shoots, roasted torpedo shallots and mixed mushrooms.
Meyer lemon hollandaise.
-or-
Lobster Thermidor
Sautéed fingerlings, artichokes, bacon and leeks.

DESSERT
Toasted Hazelnut and Almond Torte
Blackberry compote, crème anglaise and crisp hazelnut wafer.
-or-
Crème Brûlée
Flavoured with Bourbon Madagascar vanilla beans. Raspberry sorbet and ladyfingers.
-or-
Triple Chocolate Semifreddo
Caramel sauce and chocolate crisp pearls.
Menu Price $60

Thanks in advance :)

Okay I've not been this year but had to jump in just to say how jealous I am. The menu sounds wonderful whatever you choose. Enjoy c.cow!

My only complaint is that the portions were not too big. We requested more walnut bread to fill us up :-)

The scallops app only had 1 large ravioli, so should really be raviolo! The poached and the grilled lobsters were both good. (Although I seem to remember it was a basil butter poached one, and there was no toasted brioche) The Thermidor was served without the shell (heard another diner commenting on it.) The torte was a bit disappointing and the Semifreddo was the better one.

Just remembered I have a pic of the poached.

I was there in mid Feb, here is what we had:

          FIRST:
Lobster Bisque: really liked this. My wife ordered it also.

          MAIN:
I think we both had the Butter poached lobster, it looks similar to what we had but not exactly the same. (our menu was slightly different)

          DESSERT:
I had the Triple Chocolate semmifreddo (very nice)
My wife may had the Hazelnut Almond torte, I remember her saying she liked my dessert better.

Here is the menu I captured from their website site on January 21, which I think had changed to be similar to the one you posted by the time we ate there.

Thanks for the advice so far! Come to think of it, the menu posted by foodydudey is the one we were excited about back in February! Hope this version is as good.

One sort of stupid question - what degree of pre-cracking do they do for you? The only time I've ever had lobster in a restaurant was at one of Gordon Ramsay's in London, and absolutely no pre-cracking had been done. It was a messy nightmare! Should I be worried?

Nothing to worry as far as shells go. Either there won't be any shell on the plate, or it will just be there as a decoration.

While the poached and the Thermidor was off the shell, I believe at least the claws were in the shell for the grilled, but already cracked.

Was there a few weeks ago.

While I did not have that tasting menu, one of the others at my table did and I tried their butter poached lobster, which was great.

Shockingly, one of the best things of the night was my wife's pasta with wild mushrooms - a world of difference from a failed pasta dish I had there a year ago - fantastic hand made, well cooked, truffle shavings, lots of sauce.

I had the Foie App which was excellent, and the lamb, which is always well executed.

Hi. does anybody know when the Lobsterlicious promotion is going to last until? i have one dinner slot for my trip to toronto on 20 April (and I'm wondering if Scaramouche would be THE restaurant to go to). Thanks!

Maybe you should call and ask, as the Lobsterlicious menu is no longer mentioned on the website.

Sorry to advise that it has ended - we got in on the last day.

That makes a review more or less moot, but we had a great meal, despite being fairly exhausted. The service was great, the view was as nice as other reviewers have depicted, and the lobster menu was great value.
