Would love to hear from those who've tried any of the little establishment serving sushi, udon, tempura etc. at the 6-7 places tucked inside to the right of the front door.

Santouka is my favorite ramen place in West L.A.

You know, I've only been to Santouka. In fact, I ate there today. Their ramen is so good, I couldn't see the point of trying the other places.

+3 for Santouka. Of all the food court options (I think it's four, not six or seven), they are the standout. Shio ramen combo with on of the rice combos (natto makes me think I'm being healthy :)) is a full meal for most. The Japanese-style Italian pasta place is actually pretty good as well. We ordered the pasta with pesto the other day and it was pretty darn good. Misasa also does very competent Japanese dishes. Their whole fish dishes are actually good, but you have to be good with the ohashi and have some serious skills picking out the bones. I've haven't had a yearning for udon for a while so I can't comment on Sanuki Sandou.

I get the pork with rice. "All pork, all the time" is my motto.

Okinawans love their pork - maybe that's why they grow so old so gracefully. :)

The pasta with pesto was very good, as well as the spaghetti with white clam sauce. Looking forward to trying Santouka and some of the Bento boxes.

Ooh - white clam sauce - my mom loves those bi-valves prepared just about any way. I will pass this on to her - thank you. Our munchkin daughter really loved the pasta with pesto - so did the rest of us when she graciously offered us some.

If you're looking for something besides ramen, I'm a huge fan of the ginger pork at the place in the corner, don't recall the name. It's on the side that doesn't have Santouka, all the way to the left.

                I also reco Santouka.

For dessert, you might try the maccha green tea ice cream, 1st shop on the right as you enter the food court.

The Curry Udon with beef (soup style) is Great! Really nice beef flavored broth with a good curry taste with out being heavy and gloopy.
