Favorites at Hill Country?
I was given a gift certificate to Hill Country and I'm wondering what is great and what is best avoided. Thanks!

Thanks all.
I liked the sausage, fatty brisket, corn pudding, and pork ribs. Somebody had bought me a certificate at Restaurant.com, so it was a bargain. I wouldn't rush back, but I enjoyed going there once.›3 Replies-

I don't know. I wondered the same thing, so I added a $6 sausage to the order to bump it up. Wound up paying a balance of $20 for fatty brisket, 1 beef rib, 1 pork rib, 1 sausage, 6 smoked wings, 2 sides, and 1 beer. If I went back (which I probably won't) I'd stick to the sausage, a little fatty brisket, the pork ribs, and the corn pudding. It is a great deal with the coupon, but it felt a little bit like eating in a noisy dorm (if MBA programs for large white guys had dorm cafeterias).

short rib is damn good (it was a special, served on a giant bone), regular beef rib is good too, lean brisket is truly inferior to moist brisket. corn pudding is aight, mac is good, green beans are good, black-eyed peas are good but just pick the sides by looking at the display and go with your heart.

I love their big beef ribs and my SO loves their sausages. If your into fatty brisket order it here but be prepared for a LOT of fat. For dessert their peanut butter and jelly cupcakes are really good but pricey. I'm usually too full from all the meat and mac and cheese to ever get any!

re: roze
Second the PB&J cupcakes. Adding:
Blue Bell Ice Cream
Green bean casserole & shoepeg corn are OK
