family dinner suggestions

hi- we're looking for a restaurant that is "LA" for a family dinner with a couple out-of-town guests.
we will be a group of 7 and would like a medium-noise level.
american/seafood/italian... nothing too exotic, but high quality.
entrees max-ing out at about $20-30...

any recommendations?

it's on the higher end of your price range, with almost all of the entrees under 30 dollars, but close... Wilshire Restaurant. Great ambience, esp on the patio...

Taste on Melrose. Little Dom's and Dominick's would also be likely candidates.

It would also be helpful if you gave a little information on what geographic area you would prefer for your dinner.

we'll be coming from all over (downtown, hancock park, west LA).
we're willing to drive somewhere that has a nice atmosphere for our out-of-town family guests. santa monica maybe? any place with a view?

pizzeria mozza will be impossible to get a reservations. this dinner is for next next weekend.

i'll check out the other recommendations!

Campanile (Mark Peel) in Hancock Park is still strong. If you do go, ask to be in the front patio.

hard to get good food along with good view. i am a believer you have to choose one or the other.

Check out Cafe del Rey's menu to see if it is within your price range-- they have a lovely view and good food. http://www.cafedelreymarina.com/menu_...

Pizzeria Mozza, Osteria Mozza for Italian
WaterGrill for seafood, but it might be stretching your $30 limit
Grace, AOC, Hatfields are your other choices.
my favorite right now is Animal.
