re: FastTalkingHighTrousers
Be careful, there is not actually one at the MIT Student Center, despite what their website says. It was just there briefly for the Emerging Technologies Conference. Apparently there really is one at the Massachusetts College of Art and at the Curry Student Center at Northeastern.

re: lipoff
Yes, the one I tried was at the conference at MIT, not necessarily a permanent fixture.
Honestly I was totally underwhelmed by the ice cream. Whoever designed the silly machine is obviously a bunch of tech-nerds who don't really know much about ice cream. Sure it makes any of 20 different flavors, but they are all just flavored with syrup (blech) so the Maple Walnut for example, has NO Walnuts. I also found the texture of the ice cream to be too smooth, kind of lifeless.
Bottom line in my book, the world does not need an automated ice cream making robot, at least not if the end product is what I tasted. I'd rather have a plain old fashioned vending machine that sold Ben and Jerry's or Hagen Daz (or Richardson's my personal fav.)

re: StriperGuy
I make homemade ice cream (which I will say is as good, if not better than Richardsons) and I think Moobella was pretty good. I tried the light coffee chip and would definitely get it again. As for the lack of walnuts in the maple syrup, it wouldn't surprise me if that is a precaution to not expose people (especially kids at the Aquarium) with allergies to any type of nuts.
