Food Network 4-in-1 Grill Station - Plates Stuck!

I accidentally switched the upper and lower grill plates on my Food Network 4-in-1 Grill Station and now I cannot remove them. The manual has no troubleshooting. It also doesn't tell me who made this thing. There are no customer service phone numbers or websites listed in the manual.

So does anyone know how to fix this? I love this grill (It's way better than any of the home panini grills I've ever used) and have gotten into the habit of using it almost every day. I'm going to hate myself if I've ruined the whole thing with this mistake.

Here's a link for the product manual. According to page 8 the grills will fit either the base or the top.

Page 10 has a customer service number: 1-866-832-4843.

Did you ever figure this out? One of my dumbass room mates did the same thing and now we cant fix it.
