Anisette Brasserie

I'm heading for dinner tomorrow to Anisette and wondered if anyone has had a good experience there recently. The last few times I went, sometime last year, I was less than pleased. If so, what was good??

from the raw bar last week, the lobster and king crab... hard to mess that one up :)

      tuna carpaccio i enjoyed
      companion enjoyed the beet salad

sides i liked the grilled haricots vert
companion said pomme puree was decent, not a necessary re-order

Foie gras, the sweetbreads, moules frites, beef bourguigon, duck confit.

The tart tatin is great too. If you're going tomorrow there will likely be a special contingent on what's interesting at the Santa Monica's Farmer's market.

I was there two weeks ago. French onion soup was very good. Duck confit was also delicious. But I found the service sloppy and cool.

Oysters are excellent. I usually go with a dozen oysters, the roasted chicken, and a glass or two of St. Bernardus (when available).

Their onion soup is the best I've had.
