Anyone familiar with Hong Kong Harbour?

  • 2

We'll be stopping for the night in the Atlanta area and would like to find a good Chinese restaurant convenient to an Interstate. Hong Kong Harbour on Cheshire Bridge Road gets good marks from Zagat's. Does anyone here have any comments about it?

  1. It's our go-to place. But it's also a stone's throw away. That said, I really like their potstickers, yummy-doughy-pork-filled goodness. The salt and pepper squid rocks, but only if you eat it there (a little soggy as takeout). And there are plenty of other things on the menu that are very good (beef chow fun, eggplant with garlic sauce, snow pea leaves- not on the menu, etc). It's above-average for dim sum too. And open tres late.

I just saw on John Kessler's blog that he dined there with Tom Colicchio, Kevin Gillespie, Richard Blais, et al the other night.

You could also do well by hitting Chef Liu's new location (dumpling heaven) or enjoying the re-arrival of Peter Chang at Tasty China. All three are in reasonable distance from a decent hotel.

    1. Not as good as I remember in days gone by, but a solid place made all the more lovable for being open at such late hours. I heart their fried rice and their old skool decor. Ditto other reviewers comments re their potstickers. And re the salt and pepper squid.
