ISO burgers on whole wheat or whole grain buns/rolls/bread

greygarious Mar 29, 2010 07:26 PM

To me, the bun is at least as important as the patty, and I avoid those made with white flour. So far, that means I need to make my own cheeseburgers at home. Are there any places north/west of Boston that don't regard the bun as a cheap-as-possible afterthought?

It's not quite in your requested geographic area, but Four Burgers (in Central Square, Cambridge) offers all their burgers on white or wheat buns. I had the wheat once - when they mixed up my order - and it didn't make much of an impression one way or the other, but they do offer it. Pretty good burgers too.

I imagine B. Good's must be on whole wheat or something similar, but also not in your geographic area.

The Met Burger Bar in the Natick Collection has a choice of regular or whole wheat buns.
