I went to White House to see what the hype is all about. The subs are HUGE & yummy, the staff polite & pleasant, the prices are very reasonable... However, the place is more of a novelty, rather than a do not miss experience. The line alone will leave them cranky.

I too suggest the All American nostalgia of BBP.

The kids will love the Circus Drive-In. Nice owners, good food and fast service. Lots of kids eating there all the time - Just a few miles from the parkway and easy on and off - Enjoy and Have Fun!

aklores - While I really enjoy Boom, I find that the burgers are a bit over my kids' head. On the sole occasion that I took my children they didn't enjoy it.

I actually prefer Fins in Bradly Beach to Surf Taco. Similar ambiance, cleaner digs and better food...

I think they would like that. You can eat in the car w/carhop service & a tray that hangs on the window, or they have seating inside if you are fussy about eating in your car.

Also second the nomination of White House Sub Shop in A.C., of course :-) Make sure you see Sinatra's towel hanging up in its frame.....along with all the other Atlantic City memorabilia & kitsch. Be prepared for a bit of a wait depending on when you get there.

Thanks. Circus Diner FOR SURE -- and going for the carhop. Couldn't be less fussy bout eating in the car. Kids'll love it. Sundaes look pretty good there. If they can hold out, we'll do Hoffman's too.

It's not a can't miss, but about 1/2 way down if you get hungry is Bobby's Burger Palace in Eatontown, NJ. I believe exit 105 off the Parkway. When you are in AC definitely don't miss White House Sub shop. That is a "can't miss".

For that age, Bobby's is a waste. However, 100 yards away is Buffalo Wild Wings. It's been open about four weeks. It's at the eastern end of the Monmouth Mall, right by the theater. Take exit 105 as cmarie said.

The kid will love it. I'll be putting up a review soon, as I went for lunch last week.

I have to disagree with you cantkick. My kids are in the OP's age group and they go crazy for BBP. They love the fries, onion rings, the crunchified burgers and the milkshakes. Now with regard to BWW, I agree that its a fun place to go as long as its not during prime time on the weekends (its a small space with very little waiting room). While I wasn't too keen on the food (except for the namesake wings - try the mango habanero) the kids loved all the TV's and the various televised sporting events.

Agree, the Mango Habanero is very good. It's not my #1 favorite, but I'll get it again. I really can't speak for much of the other food, but I thought the fries, very skinny shoestrings, were excellent.

Only been once so far. Asian Zing was my favorite. The wimp in our party ordered the Parmesan Garlic, which was decent, and the mild one, which was flavorless. Next trip will be Jerk and one of the real hot ones.

Speaking of the hot ones, I think they have a contest where if you can eat 12 of their hottest wings in 6 minutes with no napkins or beverages, you get the wings for free and a picture on their wall (or something like that).
