Tasty flavour of new (to me) potato chip

Wiley Mar 28, 2010 08:59 PM

Bought a bag of Jack and Jill "Black Diamond" chips at T&T - Black Truffle flavour. The flavoring comes in a foil pouch, you add it yourself and shake. Very nice change of pace. I think they were $2.99 for a large bag.

Cool. What's next? Wagyu jerky and Slim Jims?

I'm not an everyday truffle eater ;>) but they do have a truffle-like savor..They're a product of China.

Over in the UK, their crisps (chips to us) have such flavours as Roast Lamb and Mint, Roast Beef and Mustard, Sechwan Ribs, Steak and Onion, Roast Chicken and on and on.

I see similar offbeat flavors in my local NoFrills.

During our time in Florida this past winter I searched high and low, pillar to post for "Beer Flavoured" Chips...I had read an article about them a couple of years ago and was very curious to try them...I looked everywhere and couldn't locate them...has anyone ever seen them in Toronto?

I tried it when T&T first put them out. I think the Wasabi flavour taste much better. The shake shake concept to flavour the chips is pretty interesting for those who haven't tried it.
