Just wanted to let people know about a new-ish pizza place in Providence. We were always partial to Fellini's and Casserta's, but have really gotten to like Acme Pizza and Wine Bar on Valley street (West End). It's in a nice little building in front of the Rising Sun Mills complex (see link at bottom). It's worth the trip if you live on the east side, and it's right around the corner if you're already on the west side.
They make pizzas small enough to be eaten by one person. We typically get one apiece and share. The pizzas are generally very thin crusted with interesting ingredient combos: prosciutto and fig (my fav), arugula and sausage, steak and balsamic onions, four cheese, etc. in addition to "regular" pizza types.
Every time we've been there, there haven't been that many people. Which is fine, my friends and I love having our own little secret place, but sad, because I'm afraid they'll go out of business.
It got a good review on urban spoon as well, shortly after it opened (see link at bottom).
So, if you're looking for good and interesting food, give it a shot.
