Looking for fresh truffles

chris coco Mar 27, 2010 01:10 AM

Anyone know a purveyor of fresh (not frozen, not canned, not jarred, etc.) black or white truffles in Vancouver?

Thanks in advance!

urban fare usually has them, or go direct to the supplier, the name escapes me, but the guys in produce or deli will let you know.

Or try (in this order) -- Mikuni Wild Harvest, Pacific Rim Mushrooms, Misty Mountain Mushrooms.

I recall many years ago when the Vancouver Stock Exchange was still around when a few mining/metals stockmarket cowboys sent around a prospectus around this concept. I don't think anything ever happened to that project. This one looks to be the real deal.

South China Seas in Granville used to have black Oregon's fairly often.

I am looking for fresh black truffles to purchase online ( live on Vancouver Island) for my husband's birthday. All the places I've found won't ship to er, Canada, eh! Anyone?

Have you looked at ogourmet.com I shop there for my foie gras fix when I am living in areas where it is not that readily available. I haven't bought truffles from them myself but there foie gras has always been priced well and the service was always excellent.

I recently installed some refrigeration products at Mikuni Wild Harvest in south vancouver. They have the best wild forage products and are world renowned for their quality. They can get you any plant or vegetable, at any time of the year. They also ship to anywhere in the world.
