Heavenly Fresh Market in West Hills
I saw a sign saying this place is open now. Has anyone been? What do they carry? What are prices like?

I live near Heavenly Market and it is a rel great resource. I have been going ther since it opened and the best part of the market is the fish department. Fresh whole Canadian farmed salmon that they will cut to order and fillet, white and red trout, always fresh and of good quality, whitefish - perfect, talapia whole and filets. The prices are better than the super markets and the quality is superb. The produce is fresh, selection is exceptional and way under supermarket prices. Their herb selection is fine!

Also was really looking forward to this place opening. My wife and I were wondering if it was going to be Persian?, Italian? Greek?. When it turned out to be Israeli, we thought that could be interesting. The plus side is that the vegetables are really fresh and the prices are great. Excellent selection of hummus and such. The major negative is the hours. I understand they have a large client base that is very religious but it is a great inconvinence to have it closed on Saturdays and closing early on Fridays. I understand the reason why, it just makes it less likely I will visit this market.

HI -- I went to this market today. It was really pleasant -- it's a kosher market with a lot of Middle Eastern food (canned, frozen, and fresh) and baked goods (pita, Perisan flatbread, etc.). They have a full array of kosher meat and deli meat, plus a bakery that doesn't really look like it's up and running yet. I didn't try their prepared food -- but it looks like they sell kosher Persian food and packaged sushi. I hope people shop there and keep it up and running! Other kosher markets like this are in Agoura and Encino, and it is nice to have something in West Hills.
