Looking for Fresh truffles

Hello foodies.,

Does anyone know some real purveyors of fresh (not frozen, not canned, not jarred, etc.) black or white truffles in LA area?

Thanks in advance!

The mushroom guy at the Calabasas farmers market, Sat. 8 - 1, has had both black and white recently. Lots of other fine fungi as well (check out the "persimmon enoki," a great bargain).

The mushroom guys at the Hollywood and Santa Monica farmers market have them when they are in season. They are great to have around for oh... EVERYTHING :)

I've seen them at the Beverly Hills Cheese Store. Quality was just OK compared to what we see in restaurants. European truffles are out of season though. You have a long time to wait - June for summer truffles and fall for good black or white truffles. I've heard they have truffles in Australia, which would be in season now, but I've never seen them.

I've seen them at Nicole's Gourmet Foods in South Pas.
