Sonoma: Fremont Diner 2010 - California oak smoked brisket, Castle rock potato chips with dry Vella jack and Throwback Mountain View

The fried to order potato chips sprinkled with grated dry jack were great. I'm guessing Castle rock is either the farm or type of potato. This was a large potato cut in slabs and deep-fried. Some was crunchy, some was chewy ... it was unique and delicious.

Has anyone tried the brisket? It sounds great.

I bought some pickles for my road trip tommorow and, as usual they were terrific ... a container of delicious pickled red onions and another of coriander black pepper fennel and mustard seeds ... fabulous. For a bonus they gave me a container of pickled fiddlehead ferns. So good. Had to try them before leaving.

They are also selling Throwback Mountain Dew, a limited canning, with real sugar. What was really eye-opening was the ingrediant list which included orange juice as the third ingrediant ... real sugar and real juice ... what a concept. It was delicious.

Lots of interesting food on the menu such as pizza with kale flowers

So I took off down the road ... munching on chips, a can of mountain dew in one hand ... ya-hooo!
