metro food tour of LA - what's blue/green line adjacent?

As a "welcome to the neighborhood" thing, I received a pass that will let me ride the LA metro for free for five days. I'm planning on using it as an excuse to explore LA's best public-transit-adjacent food options, but I need help finding stuff that's good - and not too expensive - near the blue and green lines (going to Long Beach and South Bay respectively). I've already got ideas for the Red and Gold lines, but let me know if you have any suggestions for those as well.

  1. First I'd go to the Green Line Long Beach Blvd station, then walk north and west to Plaza Mexico in Lynwood. There are over a dozen food stalls worth investigating, in addition to El Gallo Giro, Guelaguetza and the well known (but pricier) La Huasteca.
If you go to the Green Line Redondo Beach stop and walk east ~1/2 mile, Al Noor has some tasty Pakistani food.
I've seen recent posts about Birrieria Tlaquepaque and Sinaloa Restaurant right near the Blue Line Florence station.

I know of at least three King Taco locations close to light rail stops, but they're more for convenience.
The new Gold Line East LA extension has plenty of options but I'll let someone more familiar with the area cover them.
For future reference - if someone gets called for jury duty at the Compton courthouse, I'd like to know if there's anything better than fast food withing walking distance.

At the downtown Long Beach stop (1st Street or 5th Street?), you'll find lots of options. The original George's Greek Cafe. For breakfast, the Omelette Inn.
