Maine Really Needs it Own Board

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this comment, but I feel strongly that Maine really merits its own message board, as opposed to being lumped in with Northern New England. Portland alone has an many dining options worth talking about as some states, and then when you add in all of the wonderful dining spots along the mid-Coast and Central Maine, it just seems like a no-brainer to me. I hope that if the Chowhound Admins see this, they'll seriously consider setting up a board for Maine.

I don't think I agree. As I opened your posting, I had just been thinking that I missed the wider "beyond Rt. 128" scope of the former board, because it allowed me to become familiar with other locations, and other food, in what is clearly a distinct region. A Maine-only board would be very in-bred to me, and possibly not worth my time.

Considering how few posts there have been for MA-ME-NH in the "Northern New England" board since the split, I don't think another split makes sense.

My thoughts exactly harry sparrow. Since the split I've noticed "Southern New England" has twice the amount of activity as the "Northern New England."

Agreed. If NJ had a hard time getting its own board and Ct. & Ma. don't have one, the idea that Me. should have one is a bit weak. Plus, I have children that went to school in CT & Ma. (plus a buddy in New Haven) and used to enjoy seeing the posts. I think North Dakota needs its own board too.

I agree, but I think you mean VT-ME-NH. :)
