Any African restaurants in Miami-Dade?
Are there any African restaurants in Miami-Dade County? I heard Sheba, the Ethiopian place in the Design District, has closed. Somebody told me about Sam Jacks, a Nigerian place in Opa-Locka. Was wondering if there was anything else, maybe in South Dade? Thanks!

Sheri's Restaurant - West African & West Indian
16595 NW 27th Ave., Opa Locka
just south of the Palmetto ExpyDid the person who mentioned Sam Jack's say they have a regular restaurant?
I haven't been there, but if they do have a restaurant, I'd like to check it out.
This article from 10+ years ago described the place as being more a West African grocery & cosmetics store (with occasional hot meals available on weekends).
http://www.miaminewtimes.com/1997-11-...It might be worth contacting an African students association at one of the local universities to ask if anyone knows of restaurants in the area.

Sheba closed (Q, Jonathan Eismann's new BBQ place, has opened up in that space). I heard rumors they were moving to Hollywood but nothing further.
Kafa Cafe in Midtown (just off 36th St.) had been doing Ethiopian food, but their website now says they're in the process of relocating.
Don't know of any others.

re: Frodnesor
Thanks, Frodnesor. Just took a look at the Kafa Cafe site http://www.kafamidtown.com/ and I do hope they reopen. Sheba was good, too bad they're gone.
