Restaurants near Hippodrome Theatre at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center

I scored a couple of tickets to the Tony Bourdain show in Baltimore, http://findlocal.baltimoresun.com/dow....

We're thinking about grabbing a bite before the show, but I am unfamiliar with the area. Any recommendations for dinner near this theater? Also, what is this area like? Is it safe to walk around and such?

A casual Vietnamese restaurant at Saratoga and Liberty, Mekong Delta; good food and inexpensive. No pretension, it's a small family run restaurant. You could also go to Lexington Market, but probably won't arrive early enough
