Emailing Chez l'Ami Jean?

Using the email address on their website, I emailed Chez l'Ami Jean last week for a reservation in early June and haven't heard back. Do you know whether they take reservations via email? Is now too early to make a June reservation?

  1. Best to call them, most Paris restaurants don't really use email. It is also quite early to reserve here, I would try 3 or 4 weeks before hand.

    1. They don't take reservations by email or it seems even respond to emails (so why is it on the website - french exceptionalism?)

PhilD is right - you need to reserve well in advance.

Because the geeks who make the website imagine a way it will work, and the restaurant doesn't care, just check the box "website: done".

I've found that it is a rare business in France that responds to email although they all have it on their sites. This includes hotels, restaurants, private tour guides, and even many tourist offices.

Last fall I was looking for a mountain guide in the Alps. I sent out 8 emails. I got one response. It was from a company run by an American.
