Recommendations for birthday dinner with family? Lucques, Hungry cat, Church & State, Hatfields, Providence...?
I have never been to any of the above restaurants; I have heard great and mixed reviews about these restaurants so its making my decision difficult. I went to Sona and loved it, took my family to Bazaar and we all loved it, even my 7 year old sister. I've been to AOC and is why I wanted to try either Lucques or Hungry Cat, but I'm not so sure after reading mixed reviews on yelp. I've been wanted to try Providence but then dont know if my 7 year old sister will like anything. Help me choose where to go!
Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Church & State will be too loud for a family dinner, unless you go early. A 6:00pm dinner will have you leaving just as things get crazy.
Lucques is great. There rear patio area is perfect for family dinner.
Place a call into whichever one you pick before you go, to make sure they can simplify a dish for your sis. (I would think the chef's at Lucques would come up with something sweet for her. Literally and figuratively!)-----

I wouldn't bring a 7-year-old to Providence. From your list, I would definitely pick Hatfield's (with the caveat that I haven't been to Church & State). Hungry Cat isn't in the same league as the others on your list, and Lucques is good but not exciting. Hatfield's has delicious food, with less formality and a wider menu (thinking that all lot of kids don't like seafood) than Providence.

Providence might be tough with a 7yo.
Church and State would be fine (although it's loud) I haven't been since Manzke's departure so I am not sure if the quality is still there.
Hungry Cat IMO was much better before the expansion and is nothing special and overpriced now.
Lucques can be very good, has a great atmosphere, but I have also had a couple average meals there. It is a solid spot for a family birthday dinner though.-----
