West Hollywood - Help Make this B-day Dinner for a Group of 10 the Best Dirty 30 ever!

rezat00 Mar 24, 2010 02:20 PM

Hi All. Would be very appreciateive if any West Hollywood hounds can suggest a good place for a 30th birthday party. There are about 10 of us. The food is, as always, improtant (no seafood, sushi, or Thai, pls) but I personally beleive that with a big of a group convienece also plays a role. We are going to Bar Lubitsch afterwards so bonus points for close proximity.

Thanks for any suggestions or advice. Much appreciated.

You won't be far from the The Bazaar or even Bastide, but then again you don't name any sort of desired budget so these may or may not be good for your group. I think that's too big a group for Animal on Fairfax unfortuantely.

Thanks. Our budget is in the $25 range. Bastide looks very good. My guess is that The Bazaar would be a little to crowded for our liking, although I have never been there and I am sure the food is tasty.

$25 for The Bazaar would not be enough to cover an entire meal.

$25 would probably get about two mouthfuls at Bazaar and Bastide.

Lola's is on Fairfax, not too far from Bar Lubitsch. It might be borderline for your budget.

Another place nearby is Govind Armstrong's 8 oz. Burger Bar - http://www.8ozburgerbar.com/home.html . It looks pretty casual, but would fit the price range.

Further west is Mexico Restaurante y Birria, which has a good atmosphere for a party and probably is a decent fit with your price range.

Your budget won't cover my two suggestions. Check out Taste on Melrose. It's close to where you are ending up and the prices should be right and the food is good.

Terroni might work well for you.
Mexico Restaurante y Barra is also a good choice.

Another option -- Baby Blues BBQ

Baby blues is definitely the best option for you. Super close to Lubitsch, great food, fun atmosphere, and one of the few decent places in the area that fits your price range.

Second / third for Baby Blues, and I'm not even a huge bbq fan generally. Friend had a birthday dinner there a few months ago and it worked out great. They have a private room that seats about 12 people. Their multi-person feasts are a huge amount of food - if you're going out afterwards bring a cooler in your car for the leftovers.
