Oyster values

In her Restaurant week roundup today, Devra First calls out B&G's restaurant week offerings, saying "In a city full of oyster deals, you might think a place specializing in them would get in on the action."

So...

Where are the best oyster deals in town? Where can I get decent oysters for less?

for those in the Minga-Valley Keon's in Haverhill is doing $1 oysters M-F 5-6:30pm along with 1/2 price apps.

According to their website, Sel de la Terre on Long Wharf offers $1.00 oysters at the bar - shucked live every Wednesday from 10pm-12:30am. This week they're having some sort of event with Island Creek, but it seems to be an ongoing thing.

There's always the Haymarket oyster guy - Thursdays and Fridays - if any are questionable, you can negotiate a further discount. ;)

Haymkt is Fri and Sat. I think his clams are much better than his oysters..Clams are 6 for $5. I stop there pretty regularly and can't recall the last time I got oysters.

              Glad you enjoyed them.

FWIW, I've never gotten sick after eating them..and that's over 20 years. If they were out all night , not unlikely, I'm sure they were kept on ice.

dante has $1 oysters in the bar and patio from 4-7. They go really fast, though.

Believe it or not, and I can't vouch for them but, Goody Glovers has oyster $9 for a 1/2 dz and $16 a dz. They look good but I'm a bit nervous to actually order them. They also have tall boys of gansett for under $2.

Lineage in Coolidge Corner does $1 oysters Monday-Friday 5-7PM. I think they only serve duxbury. I've been several times, order a dozen or so and a drink at the bar and am really happy. And they'll give you their crunchy salt-topped rolls heated in the brick oven.

I love the deal at Lineage - the bar there is really pleasant, especially in the early evening when the restaurant is a bit quieter. Their website just says "nightly," so I imagine the deal holds for the weekends too. And yes, the oysters are Island Creeks from Duxbury.

28 Degrees used to have $1/oysters from 5-7 pm. Going tomorrow night so I'll know if that's still the case.

Sully, I almost wrote the same thing- but then I checked their website to be sure as I haven't been in awhile. They are now $2/oyster all night.

Oh well! We'll just have to enjoy the cocktails then and save room for dinner at DaVinci!

McCormick & Schmicks also has a Happy Hour that serves 2 kinds of oysters for $1 from 3:30-6:30pm at the bar. I enjoyed them last week. The rest of the menu was also pretty good.

I second that Rialto has a great deal of $1 oysters on Monday nights.

On Sunday nights, Myers and Chang offers $1 oysters (limit of 12) and $1 PBRs from 8-10 PM.

Yes- Mon-Thurs before 6. We get 12 for $12. Chestnut Hill does this but not sure that the deal is available at all Legals-I would call and check first.

Natick Legal's does the 6 for 6 at the bar and if its after 6 , all you have to do is ask.

I was surprised yesterday afternoon (Saturday) that Legals in Braintree was offering the 6 for 6 special. That was a treat.
