Any good local food trucks or stands on Maui?

Heading to Maui in May, and I'm curious if there are any must visit trucks or stands for some good grinds. Love the shrimp trucks on Oahu. Not exactly island food, but good nonetheless. Also taking suggestions for best casual plate lunch! Thanks! Bruce

Without a doubt you need to stop off at Big Beach BBQ. Right by first entrance in Makena.
I have been to all of them out there and there is no comparison. Fresh fish tacos, Pork sliders on Hawaiian Sweet bread with a home made guava mustard....yum....a must stop!

I would check out the Jawz taco truck parked outside Big Beach in Makena, or the "Makena Grill" farther down the road on the way to La Perouse. Neither are, in my opinion, fantastic, but they're good if you're over there. If you drive to Hana there's a place for ribs - if it's still open, it hasn't been the last two times I've gone out - about two miles prior to entering town.

We don't do food trucks like they do on Oahu, sorry to say. Best casual plate lunch is Da Kitchen. (Kahului, Kihei, Lahaina)
