ISO French Silk Pie recipe (similar to Baker's Square) for Mom's B-day
I would like to make a home made french silk pie for my Mom's upcoming birthday.
Her all-time favorite pie was the french silk from Baker's Square (not sure if the restaurant was regional - we live in Southern California).
Can you please provide your favorite french silk pie recipe?
Bonus points if it "resembles" the Baker's Square pie.
(So far, I am leaning towards the recipe I have in the "Best of America's Test Kitchen" collection).
Thanks in advance.
Funny you mention that. I had wanted to make a Baker's Square French Silk pie for Pi(e) Day particularly after discovering that my West Coast and East Coast friends alike had never encountered Baker's Square or French Silk pie. As it's pretty much a chocolate mousse pie with whipped cream I plan on making a shortening crust which I will fill with a spiced ancho and chipotle chocolate mousse. The topping will be piped whipped cream and dark chocolate shavings.
Oh, how I miss that pie. We dont have BS on the east coast and the one near my parents house in Chicago is closed now.
If you google it you find lots of copycat recipes. I havent tried it myself, but just might now.
Please let us know how it turns out.
