Knife Sharpening?

I'm not sure this is the correct board for this, but Broadway Panhandler is having its annual knife-sharpening event this weekend (all proceeds go to City Harvest).
I usually get my knives done at Henry Westpfal, but Broadway Panhandler is so much closer to me, I wondered if they are any good? Also, I know the lady in Chelsea Market gets good reviews on this board. How do these three compare?
Is Panhandler as good (or even ALMOST as good) as Westpfal?
Thanks

  1. I cannot recommend Broadway Panhandler for sharpening. We had both a santoku and a Wusthof chef's knife sharpened there and subsequently took them to Westphal to get them re-sharpened (with much better results). Sorry.

Thanks!! That is exactly the info I was seeking. I was basically looking for a comparison between these two, and you provided it!!

    2. Go to Henry Westphal. In business over 100 years. They are simply the best.

I third Henry Westphal. It's nice to do business with real craftspeople who are sincerely dedicated their work. I've always had great results.
