Spruce on Sacramento St.?

Was driving yesterday in the Presidio Heights neighborhood and noticed the restaurant Spruce on Sacramento. Never heard of it. The space looked like a slick garage conversion and the decor looked clubby/upscale.

Any Chowhounders been to Spruce for lunch or dinner? I love that section of Sacramento St. but the food options have been very, very limited. Appreciate any thoughts you have on this place.

Thanks.

      1. Do a "Search this board" search for Spruce. There have been dozens and dozens of comments about it here over the past 6-12 months.

          1. been there and really liked it. i was part of a very large party in a private room so can't speak to the feeling of being in the main room. same group that owns Village Pub in Woodside..another great spot.

Had a great dinner there about a year ago for work but an average dinner about half a year ago with family. Restaurant is quite beautiful and neighborhood is charming, but food has not been that consistent.

Just spoke to a family member who was with us that night half a year ago, and he recalls the food being "a saltier and more formal version of what you get at Salt House." Haha.
