Inexpensive (less than $35/person) set dinner for 30 people

I have been again tasked with finding a location for a work dinner, but I'm having a lot of trouble finding anything within our budget ($35/person before drinks/taxes/grat).

If they can handle "ethnic" try Miga on Bloor for decent Korean food. (Miga is not the best Korean on that strip but is the only place that has room for 30 people all together.) They have great customer service and will work with you in advance to arrange all the details. Clean, modern atmosphere and the section that holds 30 people is semi-private (surrounded by a half-wall). You can have 6 people per table (at 5 tables side by side with gaps in between for getting in and out) and each table has one barbeque to share (or you could choose a set dinner that is pre-cooked to avoid bbqing yourselves).

Or what about Le Paradis? Their menu is cheap and French food appeals to a wide variety of tastes.

hmm. I know our staff would enjoy Korean, but the Board is a bit harder to please sometimes (my boss already said no to Japanese food). :(

Harbord House has an upstairs private room and menu that would suit your group and your budget.

Agreed - I went to a birthday dinner there and the food was excellent at a perfect price. And can you say sticky toffee pudding?

btw, Harbord House is a pub located at 150 Harbord St (near Brunswick), there was an incorrect place link automatically added to my earlier post.

Their website has information about group bookings -

Chinese in Scarboro will easily fit the bill.
A Chowhound group meet at Sheppard and Brimley came to $22 each with tip.

30 people might be tight, but Jules Bistro offers $25 Prix Fixe menu and is very good for that price point.

Apologies - I had a line that said location but I must have deleted it when editing.

Location = downtown, roughly. South of Eglinton, let's say. About half of the guests will be staying in the dundas/spadina area, and I'll arrange a car service for them to get to the restaurant.

I'm not sure if the space is perfect, but the Beaconsfield has a great $25 prix fixe - interesting options for veggies and carnies alike.
