"Home of the" or "World's Best" Food in Washington, DC
Working on a contest at my work where I need to take a picture in front of an eatery claiming to be the place that is the "Home of" or "World's Best" something. I can't think of anything off the top of my head but am sure everyone on this forum can think of some places. I live near U St but obviously will travel as far as needed -- does Ben's say anything inside like "Home of the Chilidog?"
Thanks in advance for your help!

From looking at Ben's website, apparently there is a sign inside that says "Home of the Famous Chili Dog". Here's a link to the website...look at the seventh row of pictures, on the far right side...

There used to be a "Worlds's Best Cheesecake" shop on Lee Highway in Fairfax, between Falls Church and Merrifield, in the strip where a Tippy's Taco House is still, for some reason. The cheesecake was pretty darn good. The shop isn't there any more, but it's possible that they still exist somewhere. A Google search suggests that the business was gobbled up and now is headquartered in Ashland VA (near Richmond), but it's possible that they still have the name. You might contact them and see if they have a Worlds Best Cheesecake sign somewhere. Apparently they still have the logo - it's on the web site.

re: Bob W
World's Best Cheesecake did indeed move to Ashland, VA, or thereabouts, several years ago. The original owner sold to a local family, and they moved the business from Lee Highway to Chantilly, as the walk-up retail part of the business had greatly declined over the years. The family decided to relocate themselves and the business to Ashland for "quality of life" reasons. They sold the business to the current owners a couple of years later. I do not know what the facility in Ashland looks like, so do not know if there is any decent exterior signage.
