Coffee - Art of Joe, fairly new on 84th/Columbus
Ouest - nice established French place on Broadway/84th (?)

Indian on UWS is generally lousy imo but I've heard Earthen Oven is good.

Similarly Mexican, though Super Tacos at 96h St subway is good. Cafe Frida is not bad (though not just tacos) and near the AMNH.

Levain Bakery for best chocolate chip walnut cookies (they're my favorite cookies, much better than City Bakery, IMO) and Grandaisy Bakery for great breads and pizza. Jacques Torres for hot chocolate and chocolates.

Earthen Oven is a favorite Indian spot worth checking out.

Never been to Republic or Bar Jamon and not a coffee drinker/taco eater but I'm sure someone will chime in to help out soon!
