Authentic thai food in Vancouver?

Looking for some authentic thai restaurants in Vancouver where ketchup/tomato paste is NOT the main ingredient in the Pad Thai sauce.

Last time i was at Lhy Thai a couple of month ago, the food was not good nor was i impress. the same owners etc etc,,,... been going since 2002. prob not anymore since not worth the drive and much better in the city now.

its nice to hear that people wanting the real taste and flavors, not the assimilated to local taste. this wasn't the case 10-15 years ago.

i like maenam. its thai food in a casual upscale environment. most others are smaller and can be hit or miss. in that some days are better than others. just not consistently good. maybe i went to Lhy Thai on a bad day. but my guest were not impressed either..

There is a tiny little place next to Save On Foods on Pinetree in Coquitlam. Can't for the life of me think of the name of it. We just call it the Thai place since we only have one.

Go for the tom yum goong. The pad thai is good also, tamarind base not ketchup.
