I think I might make a trip to the Intl Food market on 9th Avnue this week. I have never been
ther, but I hear it is worth the trip.
I specifically need minced onion (bulk), basil leaves, eggplant, and tomato sauce. Will I be able to get all of these items, or at least some of them? I will also stroll through the store and buy other items, as well, but just want to know, before I make the trip, if I will be able to pick-up the specific items I listed.
If not, I may save the trip for another time, and just pick-up those items locally.
thanks

Most of their items are dried or imported packages, not fresh; they do have some fresh items in the front such as halveh and mozzarella, but I do not think they have either fresh eggplant or onion. They do have an extensive collection of tomato sauces/pastes as well as vinegars and other imports, and also have dried herbs and spices. Worth going to, but if you need specific things I would call ahead.

My favorite things to buy there are; cured black olives, tzatziki and taramosalata. On the next block north is Staples vegetable market, same side of the street. Sometimes you can get good buys in fresh vegetables there.
