A salute to Rocky and Carlos

Tourists or new comers who have never been should give this classic place a visit. Its in chalmette on the st. bernard hwy. maybe six miles from the quarter. Written up in Roadfood and praised by michael stern the author for what it is a great pig out joint. Macaroni and cheese, wop salad(dont worry this isnt an ethnic slur the founders and owners are sicilian) this place feeds you mountains of food and I usually find. my car traveling to it everytime Im in town. Classic new orleans Italian creole and southern place that defies description.

      Indeed. Mac and cheese, a side of meatballs and a wop salad will feed you for two or three meals.

        Rocky & Carlo's is one of my favorite places in the New Orleans area. I love the mac and chesses and the veal parmesean. I do not get to go to New Orleans this year but hope to make it back soon so I can go to Rocky & Carlos.
