Michigan I - 94/75 Corridor (Port Huron to Ohio)

Hey Hounds.

So on March 30th, Mrs. Sippi and I will be traveling to points south and will be crossing the boarder at Sarnia/Port Huron. Heading south it should be about lunch time.

I've been looking through the boards and the only thing I can find that I think looks interesting and is close to the interstate is Uncle Sam's Village Caffe the 19th Hole. It sounds quite good and would make a nice entry on my blog.

Is there anything else that is not to be missed in the I - 94/75 corridor between PH and the OSL??

Thanks.

DT

There's a place outside Lansing that was on DDD, Gizzard City, that actually looked kind of interesting...but can't say from personal experience.

Since your place to try is in Lansing, are you taking I-69 from PH?

No, we're heading south on 94 to 75.

We've been through Potterville and visited Joe's Gizzard City. It was great. I even had the Triple D burger.

We do sometimes cross into PH and then take 69 all the way into Indiana so some thoughts on stuff to catch there is good too.

      Thanks

Uncle Sam's is closed for good, the owner passed away.

          Too bad.

Now I think I'm looking at American Coney Island. Maybe do a taste off between that one and the Coney place next to it.

Instead of taking 94 clear to 75, would you consider a cut-over on 69 to get to 75, prematurely? If so, the Clarkston Union (not Clarkston Cafe) if a fun choice. It resides in what was a church, and has a nice oyster bar and great beer selection. The food, for lack of a better description, could be characterized as California Cuisine. Fresh soups and salads, Mexican dishes, "plough share" meat-cheese-fruit boards, "gourmet" meatloaf and mac&cheese, etc.. Quite a pleasant experience.

I think this may be a better idea for a trip when we go through Indiana. Sounds like a good place and worth visiting.

We'll be in Dixie. We'll have BBQ there.

            Thanks though.
