Hi there,

I'm having a 4th of July wedding this year and would like to hire a caterer to roast a whole pig with all the fixin's. Anyone know of a catering operation north of Seattle that could accomodate? Wedding is at a lake east of Mt. Vernon, WA.

Thanks in advance.

Although I am not sure if they still do it, an Everett restaurant on Pacific Avenue called the Brickhouse used to BBQ whole pigs. I am not sure if they can do it offsite, however.

Casper (the gator guy) has a huge mobile BBQ rig-- not sure if he will do a whole pig or if he's just a "parts" kind of guy. His (new) place is on Highway 99 in Shoreline, might be worth it to contact him and ask.

You could also always try Armadillo Barbecue, formerly in Woodinville, but now in Duvall. They have an extensive BBQ catering operation, albeit I don't know if they can do a whole pig. They can do quite the pork and beef rib BBQ catering event.

I met a really nice fellow at the copy shop last week while I was copying sheet music getting ready for a performance. Seeing my music he asked if I was a teacher and he handed me a copy of what he was duplicating - a flier for an upcoming event he is catering. He's with Aloha Island Treasures, and you can *bet* they do pig roasts! :) We talked at length about catering and cooking, and it sounded like he really knows his stuff. If I were going to be doing a pig roast, I'd be contacting him, myself.

You might check them out: http://www.alohaislandtreasures.net/

If you wanted to try them out ahead of time, there's an event at May 1st with free admission, and the luau/show price is pretty reasonable at $12 (advance)-$15 (at door).

I believe the fellow I talked to was Nathan (Nakana) McGibboney,
Phone: 1-800-35708548 main, or his cell is 808-392-3118.

Your wedding's come and gone, but I hope you found Reverie BBQ in Mt. Vernon. Their pulled pork is very close to Hawai'ian pua'a kalua and their "BBQ Sundae" is to die for.
